6 PORTLAND RESTAURANTS WITH THE ABSOLUTE WORST PARKING (POSTMATES EDITION)

6 Portland Restaurants With the Absolute Worst Parking (Postmates Edition)

Parking is your worst enemy if you work for Postmates and Caviar. It would help a lot if you know ahead of time whether a restaurant has horrible parking before accepting a job. So, here is my list of restaurants in Portland with the worst parking for Postmates pick-ups.

The Whole Bowl

The Whole Bowl (SE 44th and Hawthorne Blvd)

This location has enough space for about 2 cars and they’re usually taken. You’ll have to look for a spot in residential areas. To make matter worst, there’s usually a long line, so not only do you have park far away, then but have to wait once you walk back to the place.

Stumptown Coffee Roaster

Stumptown Coffee Roasters (SW 10th and Stark St.)

The 90-minute parking spaces are almost always taken at this coffee shop, leaving no parking spots. It’s tempting to park in the empty no-parking space and run in and out but there’s a hotel right next to this coffee shop and their valets will write tickets when you try to do this.

Luc Lack Vietnamese Kitchen

Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen (SW 2nd and Taylor St.)

The only parking available to this restaurant are on the side of the street on 2nd Ave. During business hours these spots are taken by the 9-to-5 professionals. I usually accept jobs for this restaurants in the evening after 9:00 PM when these spots are free.

Screen Door

Screen Door (24th and Burnside St.)

This is a very popular place for brunch in Portland and is usually packed with people. It has no parking lot for couriers on car. And parking on Burnside is hard to find. You’ll likely need to park on Couch St. with all the residential cars and walk to Screen Door.

Sweet Hereafter

Sweet Hereafter (SE 33rd and Belmont St.)

The street view provided by Google Earth is all you need to see. More often than not, Postmates couriers who drive will need to park in residential areas and then walk to Sweet Hereafter.

Laurelwood SE Public House

Laurelwood SE Public House (corner of SE Milwaukie Ave and SE Bybee Blvd)

There’s one parking spot in front of the restaurant. One. For a restaurant. With Laurelwood, I try and park at the nearby U.S. Bank in the evenings and cross my fingers I don’t get tow.

Compact parking

Dealing with parking issues is worth it if the payout is good. Unfortunately, the locals love these restaurants so you’re delivering to folks who live nearby, which means the payout is usually minimal. Be mindful about this when deciding if you want to accept a job from these locations. Good luck!

Let me know in the comments of other places with bad parking so we can all be aware when on-duty.
