5 Portland Caviar Restaurants With The Worst Parking

I’ve listed restaurants with the worst parking for Postmates pick-ups. Now, here is my list of restaurants with the worst parking in Portland for Caviar pick-ups.

Garden Bar PDX Downtown Courier Hacker Caviar Parking

#1 Garden Bar

This restaurant is between Couch and Burnside St. on NW 11th Ave. The area is regularly congested and Garden Bar is across from Powell’s Books. There is always pedestrians around Powell’s Books causing slow, cautious driving.  In addition to this, the Portland Streetcar runs through NW 11th Ave. The closest parking spot with vacancy cost $7 on SW 11th and Alder St. You can’t pull this trick off and get free parking because there’s a valet that takes cash. The trick only works with a kiosk you pull a parking card from. It’s so bad and time-consuming to find parking that this is the one Caviar restaurant I personally would reject in the future if I’m assigned.

Grassa Downtown PDX streetview Courier Hacker Caviar Parking

#2 Grassa

Grassa on SW 12th and Washington St. has terrible parking. It’s also very likely you will not find parking around this restaurant because of all the bars and grills, coffee shops and donut places nearby. Also, next to Grasse is the Indigo apartments. This complex has 22 floors and minimal parking so their residents take up all the paid spots nearby that offers monthly parking. Do you know what that means? It’s basically another Garden Bar. They’re just 2 two blocks apart. So that means if you can’t find parking, seven bucks at the NW 11th and Alder parking structure.

Cha Cha Cha NW 21st PDX Courier Hacker Caviar Parking

#3 Cha Cha Cha Northwest

This bugger is  on NW 21st and Everett. Northwest 21st. Need I say more? Parking is horrendous in this neighborhood. There are a lot of businesses here so parking is hard to come by. You will very likely end up driving in circles around the one-way streets until you finally realize it’s hopeless and just turn your emergency lights on and run into the restaurants hoping to grab the food and run out. But surprise! This restaurant just so happens to be on this list (link to list of restaurants with long wait).

Yep. Terrible parking and consistently long wait time. Better get back into your car and drive in circles some more. Better hope the staff notify you on your phone that the food is ready for pick-up or else you’re going to have to turn on the emergency lights again and run in to check up.

Wolf & Bear Food Cart PDX Courier Hacker Caviar Parking

#4 Wolf and Bear’s – Downtown

This is one of the many food carts on 10th and Alder. This block is a parking lot with food carts around it, a Portland hallmark. You’d figure there be tons of parking spaces but you’d be wrong. The lot is full during lunch times. You’ll have to drive in circles until they notify you the food is ready. At that point I usually pull my car up next to Wolf and Bear’s and turn my emergency lights on and then get the food. I just have to make sure there’s not a street car coming up. The streetcar runs down 10th Ave. In the evening, parking spots open up but this food cart closes at 4:00 PM. The eastside Wolf and Bear’s on SE 28th and Burnside will be taking orders though.

3 Doors Down Cafe & Lounge PDX Courier Hacker Caviar Parking

#5 3 Doors Down Café & Lounge

Here, let me drop you down onto a google map and show you what parking outside this place looks like. It’s horrible. The other side of the street is off limits which creates the problem. Hawthorne is a busy boulevard and during the evening, this area is packed with cars. You’ll have to try and find parking in the residential area on Madison Street and walk to 3 Doors Down.

Let me know in the comments which Caviar restaurants you think has the worst parking!
