How Couriers Can Capitalize On Grubhub’s Commitment To Supporting Women

Do you drive for Grubhub? Have you seen their ads on the internet about their partnership with the Girls Scout? Random, right?

One way I figure out how to get more deliveries is by paying attention to the ads these food delivery companies are pushing. Thus, helping you decide which restaurants to focus on as part of your weekly strategy (even if I can’t drive for the said platform). So when I saw this Girls Scout ad from Grubhub, I didn’t know what that was all about. Felt like such a random partnership. Is there a major increase in demand for the Girls Scout Cookies, and the brand had to let everyone know to use their platform to get them?

Grubhub’s Commitment To Supporting Women

It’s part of Grubhub’s long-standing commitment to supporting women. A couple of years ago, GrubHub started RestaurantHER, which helps women-led restaurants. And this month is Women’s History Month. The delivery brand has been working with World Central Kitchen and the Women Business Collaborative (WBC) to strengthen and expand this effort for women in the culinary industry.

“We are hopeful that across the country, RestaurantHER will spark a movement of support for women-owned and operated restaurants,” said Devry Boughner Vorwerk, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Grubhub, told Reel Chicago. “This month, and every month, at Grubhub, we want to shine a light on women-led restaurants and all the benefits these women bring to their communities through their dedication, their creativity, and their cuisine.”

Free Grubhub Hosted Concert

Grubhub is having a free virtual concert (called Sound Bites) on Friday, March 26 at 7 p.m ET (today) on their YouTube channel.

Megan Thee Stallion, Noah Cyrus, and King Princess will be performing.

If you turn into Sound Bites, you can get special discounts and other perks. Simply scan the QR codes that will pop up during the program. And for every QR code scan, the brand will donate $1 to World Central Kitchen, up to $100,000.

Opportunities For Grubhub Couriers

I haven’t driven for Grubhub. Even though my application to be a courier for them is still pending after five years. Maybe someone who works for the company will read this and look into it. Again, the ads that food delivery companies run can help you determine where to position yourself as a courier.

If you are a Grubhub driver, I think it would be a good idea to ask when you come to pick up an order if the restaurant owner is a woman. Mark these restaurants. Suppose Grubhub does some marketing campaign around women empowerment. In that case, these restaurants in your local market will likely get exposed to customers. And their order volume might spike during that marketing campaign. If you identify these restaurants, you could catch a lot of orders.

Good luck out there. Happy delivering
