How Do Batched Deliveries And Chained Deliveries Differ?

With batched deliveries and chained deliveries you are getting the most out of completing a single route. With the time it takes you to travel from A to B, you get to complete multiple deliveries.

If you choose to make deliveries for food delivery brands, you can deliver via batch and chained deliveries.

How do Batch Deliveries work?

When you are working through standard delivery, you have to pick up a food item and deliver it before starting another food delivery gig. With Batch Delivery, you can accept different orders from the same restaurant and drop them off within a specified vicinity.

The app will notify you of the number of deliveries that you have to pick up. With Postmates, this number may increase while you are on your way to the restaurant. Orders are assigned automatically. Make sure you check the list once you reach the place.

Once all the orders are prepared and ready, the app will direct you to the best route. It will show you where to drop off the first order. This way, the app will lead you to the drop-off locations. Make sure that you are delivering the right order to the right person and not mixing them up.

How do Chained Deliveries work?

Chained deliveries are slightly different. You get orders from different places that are close to each other. The app will continuously update you on where to pick up or drop off next. It formulates the best route for you and whether you can pick-up/drop off something along the way.

This process can get a little confusing. Be sure to mark the orders as you pick them up so you won’t have to check and guess at each destination.

Choosing to deliver in batches is not only efficient for the company. Because it attains more orders with a smaller fleet in an area, it is profitable for you as well.  So you do not need to go back and forth for similar routes.

Elite couriers make good money with food delivery platforms through experience. They know how to position themselves in order to receive chained or batched deliveries regularly.
